无 题 · 相 见 时 难 别 亦 难
Hard to Meet, Harder to Part

xiāng jiàn shí nán bié yì nán
相 见 时 难 别 亦 难 ,
It’s hard when we meet, and it’s hard when we part,

dōng fēng wú lì bǎi huā cán
东 风 无 力 百 花 残 。
The east wind is weak, and all the flowers are withered.

chūn cán dào sǐ sī fāng jìn
春 蚕 到 死 丝 方 尽 ,
The spring silkworms spin their silk until they die,

là jù chéng huī lèi shǐ gān
蜡 炬 成 灰 泪 始 干 。
The candle burns to ashes, and the tears dry up.

xiǎo jìng dàn chóu yún bìn gǎi
晓 镜 但 愁 云 鬓 改 ,
In the morning mirror, one worries about the changing of the cloud-like hair,

yè yín yīng jué yuè guāng hán
夜 吟 应 觉 月 光 寒 。
At night, chanting should make one feel the cold moonlight.

péng shān cǐ qù wú duō lù
蓬 山 此 去 无 多 路 ,
There’s not much distance to Penglai Mountain,

qīng niǎo yīn qín wèi tàn kān
青 鸟 殷 勤 为 探 看 。
The blue bird works diligently to explore and look around.
